Talking how bad is the dash plastic on 07's???

I have read around here that they r very easily scratched... is this a major problem that makes it look really ugly from day one or is not noticeable from daily use??

I hear the 08's have fixed this problem....

if you have had a JK for a while, ho has your dash handled daily use etc???

I do not wear a ring on my left hand but the dash near where the indicator stalk comes close to the dash is all scratched like as from a ring. For some reason the top of the bezel around the drivers internal door handle is all chipped, I think I tapped my fingures there to the beat of a song on the radio once.
It is the worst plastic I have ever encountered. I am glad the Wrangler is a rough and ready 4x4 as its starting to look knocked around inside already.

I read about this problem on jk-forum so was aware of it from day one - I have been fairly careful and my passengers know that the front passenger air bag is a 'no touch zone', but everything else seems to be holding up pretty well.

Mind you, Junior's shoes come off each time he goes in the car, and my wife is pretty careful too.

Overall it is pretty crap, but ok if you are aware of it.

Maybe its a fault with the plastic? wrong mix of materials or manufacturing process.

I didn't think mine was scratched despite numerous passengers including my we-come-we-see-we-destroy nephews - but I had a closer look at the passenger side dash and there are some very slight scratches in it. Could be worse - the scratches on the outside are much worse.
