Put your case to the opposition, if they see political mileage in it (loss of jobs in after market industry etc etc) then that could be a winner

That idea has merit ... and if the opposition was any good - they may follow up that line of thought.

The main problem is that ALL our political parties are "reactive" ... not "proactive".

A proactive govt would ensure that police and transport authorities were "out there" - dealing with hoons face to face.

Reactive govts just make lots of blanket rules which restrict ALL the great unwashed, from being able to do or use things sensibly - or otherwise, in the case of the small percentage that need policing.

Reactive govts rely on speed cameras and yearly rego inspections to make up for the lack of active policing at all other times. e.g. why are there so many "speeding" drivers statistically - compared to other infringements ??? ... because a speedcamera cannot distinguish between dangerous driving and a reflected signal from a moving object.

The more we ponder & debate this the more rediculous it is. Lets be clear As of 1st Aug:
ANY lift over standard will require engineering,
More than 29.5" tyres with NO LIFT will be unengineerasble on a TJ/XJ/ZJ,
Stock tyres with 2" or more will be unengineerable,
15mm Larger tyres will only leave a maximum of 35mm lift before its unengineerable.
If you have an engineered certificate currently fromt before 31July and need to present to the RTA for blue slip after 1Aug you will llikely be denied.
That means you can not make ANY changes to the engineering cert in future.

Come on Wooders - it's not that bad - you actually have 42.5 mm to play with on top of your 15 mm tyre diameter increase ... maybe even a couple more mm if you allow for the tyres flattening out against the road

Letter to Mr Daley is in the pipeline - no, change that, sent ! Although had a hell of a time; I mean, how do you present a rational argument to a complete load of baloney ...

One thing I love (hate) - p2 of the VSI50 they note the impact on the Driver's field of vision is one of the reasons a lift is a problem.
So if a 50 mm lift id of concern, so you think they need to ban anyone shorter than 50 mm below the mean population height from driving ?
