I don't personally have experience with that brand, but they have a very similar tread pattern to the BFG All Terrains. How many ply sidewalls do they have? 90K treadwear warranty is pretty good, but there will be a heap of conditions with that (ie wheel balances, rotations and alignments at closer intervals than you usually would do probably) which can all add up at the end of the day.

Aren't these what the Landrover Defender now uses as standard? They used to be supplied with BFG ATs but I think they switched to these a little while back. In the article that gave me that snippet of information the opinion seemed to be that they were cheaper than the BFGs but not quite as good. You pays your money, you takes your choice!

Have you considered the Cooper AT/R's?
I've done nearly 10K in them and they are wearing really good.
Warranty is 50K on them subject to balance, rotation and alignment every 10K.

The number of plies in the sidewall isn't the only important thing, the "thickness of the plies is as well.

Most off road tyres suitable for off road use will have two plies of 1500 denier (denier being a unit of measurement). BFGs have three plies of 1000 denier, so they are really only the same "overall thickness" in the sidewall as most quality tyres, but their marketing dept. gets a bit of help.

GoodYear MT/Rs normally have three 1500 denier plies, so they really have the "thickest" walls, but Cooper, with the new STTs has two 1500 denier plies, with a third 1000 denier ply angled at 8 degrees to they other two to stop tearing.....think about it.

Unfortunately, the staff at tyre retailers today don't get the oportunity to gain much product knowledge.......so most will tell you that the ove is BS (esp BFG dealers)......but it isn't.
