I have extended mine by 30mm in the front and 40mm in the rear (to protect my airbags from over extension) but I'm not running 31's, I'm running 30's so you'll need more due to the larger diameter tyres....

PS pump is a pain. Nothing like the petrol one.
IIRC I put a bit of info in the sticky when I did mine. Chances are the bearing in the bracket near the pulley has given up. there is only a bush at the back of the PS pump.
Sounds like you did a seal & leaked out, once low it froths up. Chances are its not totally stuffed, just seals & bearings as you still have frothy oil in the system.

Had a busy day working on the old gal Yesterday,

Pulled the tailgate mechanism off, gave it a thorough clean and re-lube and put all back together as i was having the sticky boot issues. All works like new again now.

Also pulled out the King Springs leaf packs which have already de-laminated... and replaced them with a brand new set. Amazingly the new ones instantly flattened out and my measurement from hub centre to guard is just under 17.5"... WTF???

These are meant to be raised height 5 leaf packs for carrying an extra 250kg load over stock and they sit flat and lower than a stock Sport (upcountry) before i have even laden the vehicle. I'm at a loss as to why this has happened on a second brand new set. The rear shackle has pushed all the way back and the leaf packs are almost completely horizontal. Anyone got an idea as to what is going on?

I did manage to swap out the sway bar bushes which were perished and allowing some movement/slip and the new ones grip great. Front end of the Jeep is starting to come together nicely...

I also replaced the rear brake line for a braided stainless TJ version (Crown automotive part) so that is nice, had planned on doing the fronts and replacing the steering damper with a Tough Dog RTC but ran out of time. Next weekend maybe?

Excuse the dirty underbody - went to the beach the night before - all been pressure washed down again now!

It a not that hard to pull them out, remove the belt, try and crack the nut on the pulley. Remove the h drive off the ac, lift the engine and remove the mount off the block and get a puller to remove the pump. oh it's a fun job to do.
