New user with code issues
Hey guys, hope I am in the right forum here. I have been having a nightmare with my 03 Cherokee aka Liberty since I bought it second hand.
I have had it go 3 times to a mechanic, who repairs it, clears the codes and within a day the dreaded engine light is back.
Codes are P0132 and P0152, .
P0132 - O2 SENSOR 1/1 CIRCUIT HIGH
P0152 - O2 SENSOR 2/1 CIRCUIT HIGH
Symptoms; Very VERY rough idle. Occasional stalling. Sometimes when you put your foot down delayed/lagging acceleration.
Has anyone dealt with this before?
My mechanic checked all the spark plugs and said they looked very new, and I had 2 these two sensors replaced to match the other two sensors that were replaced pre purchase.
So it seems all 4 sensors are new but I have no way to tell what brand they were, the spark plugs are all new, it has a new fuel filter, it has a new battery.
I have heard suggestions that I should unplug the battery to reset the PCM and see if that fixes it as I believe the car may have had these issues upon purchase in October last year. In that case, is it just undo the neg terminal, undo the pos terminal, and leave it for 8 hours?
Thanks for any help!

While that may clear the codes (I’m a new KJ owner too, I’ve owned a a WJ for 15 years so am more familiar with them) it may not solve the issue. I know in WJ’s some owners have had issues with “out of range” readings with non Mopar O2 sensors.
This may not be your issue but it may be worth bearing in mind.
I’m sure the guys with more experience with this model will be able to give you more guidance.
Doug.

Hopefully so, I am at the point where no matter what I do I get an engine light and these codes and my mechanic is now even scratching his head. Not too sure where to turn to.

Victoria, I am waiting on the mechanic to check the records and see which sensors they put in, I keep reading a lot online saying that Bosch is garbage and should have gone for NGK or something.
Others have said disconnect the battery for over 8 hours, but before I do that I need to know what to wrap the ends of the battery cables in so that they don't touch metal and start a fire.

The energy is stored in the battery and once the cables are disconnected the cables are as dead as the legendary DoDo.
Your troubleshooting should now be centred on the wiring and connectors between the O2 sensors and the ECU. Also a factory electrical circuit is handy as it will show if any other devices are on the O2 circuits to the D/A ECU driver.
I would get a engine emission circuit and check if other engine management sensors share the O2 circuits control voltage if any, and if they do consider replacing these and checking these circuits for continuity.
Lastly it is possible the ECU has a faulty driver on the O2 driver on its circuit board but its replacement should only be considered after thorough troubleshooting as described.

Would that cause the other symptoms too i.e loss of power and stalling?
