Default 120K km Service Observations..........

Did my version of a 120K km service on my 2015 WK2, I have no idea what Jeeps idea is but mine gets engine oil and filter, air filter, fuel filters, diffs changed, MAP cleaned as well as the poxy EGR diffuser................

Took pics of my fuel filters after 10K km, dark grey which the filter if left to drain for an hour or so becomes just a light grey........... looks about the same as trucks I have changed so normal to me.

Engine oil capacity in my 2015 Laredo is 7.7lts as measured out so no idea where they get 8.5lts from, could be why some have overfull issues..... Dipped with the genuine and my own dip stick ............ Ran for a couple of minutes to move into garage, will check again after a decent run.......... The oil jigger was showing 50% after 10400km.....

Whoever said the squeezy bags make life easier must have been doing it very hard before, while the rear diff was a bit awkward the front diff was bluddy messy, I got my 1lt pump bottle into action and will keep using it No Mess with it....... Front diff clear but rear diff slightly murky but not really yucky, no chunky bits or moisture, lots of towing over the last 50K km........

Air filter after 10K km with a blow job at 5K.......

Wesfil Cooper filters, Nulon engine and diff oils.........

That fuel in the pic at 10k is really black and yet I just changed mine at 48k recently and my fault I missed it yet and only lightest of grey so I knifed it apart and certainly darker the deeper I cut but nothing like your pic. I’m not concerned with the 40k turn around after seeing what I had at 48k. Mind you will not let that happen again. I had a mate with his fuel filters coated in cream and as it turns out ourfuel tanks have a number of top inspection type holes with questionable seals when you look at the images top down. Naturally the day out water crossing resulted in the fuel tank copping with muddy crap that the filters caught it all. It does say something about how good the filers are though.

It looks darker in the pic but still okay in my books for a diesel, again its a matter of where you refuel as well, when travelling off the highways I will often have not much choice if any ...

Locally I have about 2 places where I refuel as they have new tanks, one is 25km south ,the other 50kms north, the garage in town I don't trust his tanks as he runs them out all the time ....

The stupid manual oil change reset wouldn't work so used Alpha OBD to zero the mongrel thing...........

20km run to butchers and back, oil level spot on so 7.6lts in this rig...

It maybe worth having a look where the vent outlet on the fuel tank is. On a KJ its at the top of the tank & gets crusty around it from dust. A tube attached allows having it up much higher out of the dust & water. Have seen inline air filters put on the end. Even a small inline petrol filter would show what is headed for the tank.

I used to use old petrol filters on the end of my diff/gearbox breathers........... on the WK2 I'm pretty sure the tank breather comes up to the fill point, been awhile since I had it all apart though.

Thos fuel filters look a bit darker than mine seem to get but as said, all depends on fuel quality i think.
Are those Mopar filters or Wesfil ones ?
