Too right mate nothing is unstoppable
At the end of the day the old hilux probably cost as much as a new rubi with a few mods.

I've done a few things to mine but it certainly isn't the hardcore type, it does pretty well though. Pretty happy with it.

Jeeps are a great platform to build from no denying. Pick up a second hand one in good nick spend a few k and you have a weapon that will do very well, no denying.

I wonder what the most capable standard would be. I would have to think the jk and the defender would be at the top of that list, maybe some other obscure merc or something also lol.

Cheers

The fun is being somewhat capable and stoppable. A balance.

If it's unstoppable that you want, then get a helicopter to go over all the obstacles and terrain.

I saw a Zook with a 2.0L engine tackling the rocks at the recent Tuff Truck event. Shows you don't need big engines or long wheel base either. The winner was a Jeep that was even shorter, but balanced for the condition.

mmm what makes a 4wd go places others don't.
- traction (suspension, tyre characteristics, tyre pressure, lockers or electronic wizardry)
- clearance (front/rear departure angles, ramp over angles, diff pumpkin height, steering/suspension components, sill height)

Other factors:
- wheelbase (sometimes its the only key you need...)
- driver skill/luck/insanity
