Greetings and salutations, just wondering if there is a rear hi lift jack point for those of us with stock rear bumpers? I could use the "lift mate" if its just for recovery but if I need to change the rear tyre what are my options? I've seen people use sliders as a jack point but wondering if a tube based slider (I'd like one with a step) will be strong enough or would it just crumple? Something like the SRC http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/49.htm
As NVIOUS mentioned, AEV sell a base to mount the OEM bottle jack on if you just need a little more height. Any vendor on here that sell AEV products will stock them. They are also on ebay.
Problem with a hi-lift for changing tyres....you have to lift all the suspension travel to get the tyre up.....the jack base is a good idea, I think.
I wouldn't use the Smittybilt sliders to lift the vehicle with....they don't enjoy the best of reputations......and this is coming fro ma guy who has a Smittybilt rear bar/carrier combo that I think is pretty good.
You do better with Black Jack Welding or Uneek sliders.....or some of the quality "step" style US made ones if you want to jack the vehicle using the slider.
