Of course the fun police could argue that they are illegal but until we open up a projector and see the actual blocker plate, everything is only theory.
I'm curious to see what the pattern looks like. I'm watching with interest as this could be an interesting development.

i have projector low beam and the beam pattern is a very distinct straight line that the light cuts off on. I can't see how it would be any different left to right

Can you take some photos?

Some against a wall would be good, it'd alos be nice to see some street pics too.

Check US vs EU cut-off differences. In the EU they have to sweep up on the curb side, to light pedestrians and other potential hazards. In the US they only have a step up on the curb side.

I don't know australian regulations but if the cut-off specification is like the US, it's not going to be a huge thing using US LHD headlights in Australia. Fun police, come at me!

Time time time, freaking time...
I've been planning the crossmember for a long time, bought the steel almost a month ago but now I need to rebuild the crashed MX5 I bought. The beam pattern thing is pretty low on the prio list but it's there.

We're more along the lines of the RHD EU pattern from what I've observed.

Well, of course, since it's RHD

The sweep up is not as much as the picture makes it look. My recent rental car had projector headlights and there was barely more up sweep than the DOT versions.
