I'm interest to see how it goes over the Simpson. I had mine custom made and the installer wouldn't install in onto the plastic floor as he wasn't confident with how secure it would be. Especially in the outback. We ended up removing the whole plastic floor and securing it to the body (or whatever is under the plastic floor)

Also make sure you also allow for access to the area that you lower the spare wheel from.

I hope you enjoy the trip. In my opinion a good draw set up makes the trip so much more enjoyable. Everything has its place and all that. I think I might look at re-doing mine more along you lines. At the moment I have the fridge on top tied down with a strap and its a pain to get in and out. When I did mine I had hopes of being able to still see out the back with all the gear packed away.
