I'm very happy with the flex in mine too but I had to sacrifice up travel which sux when your on soft springs and you go and shove a heap of stuff in the back! I also want to get rid of the rock anchor shock mounts but I can't just move them up due to the limited up travel ATM so... Through the floor I go! I'd like to put air bumps in too but that's another story.

Yeah I know why they are the way they are but there are other ways of controlling that. I don't have many options for keeping them under the floor that I like cause laying them over further will make it to soft for what I'm after. I do plan on putting a cover over them to protect from items in the back which will stop the wrong people from seeing them! And as for looking underneath well..... I'm kinda already screwed on that one.

I hear ya there mate...... have you thought about cantilever rear shocks tho fitting exhaust can be an issue
If well setup there isn't anything that can touch them for performance and travel (8" shock = 16" @2:1 ratio + horizontal mount across the frame so not thru the floor....
......In stage2 mods for the CJ I plan to change the rear suspension setup to 1.5:1 ratio Cantilever 12" Coil-over/long-arms & this will give me 18" travel and the ability to custom set up/down travel limits.

This would fix the shocks front and rear set ups - rear traction bars then just mount your Fox on top of axle tubes

No Al, unfortunately with the weather working against me i am so far behind decking around the pool at my daughters house that every week end is booked.

and also no it is not my XJ, i just googled a couple of pics on traction bars for XJs, they need a shackle at the vehicle end to allow the leaf to work properly, but then a shock for and aft of the axle would not be required.

They are necessary with lots of torque, but would also work in Rangers circumstance wanting to mount his shocks the same each side.
