Auto store didnt have the battery that was in it...interestingly enough, it was a stop/start battery a system which my bus doesnt run ...hmmm....anywayz...wouldnt be in my part of the World until after adventure departure time so canned the whole idea...they did have an equivalent non stop/start battery with a higher output BUT I'm just not willing to take the chance that it may OR MAY NOT fit into the wombat hole under the seat with its 'dicky' lengthed leads, post positions and the 'ledge' on the end to enable lockdown...sooooo.....off on the adventure in a Prado !!!....we were taking 2x buses...now its four of us in a 'dune buggy'....gonna miss every aspect of the ride....could have 'trialled' a new battery but having taken it out...then put it back in to move the car...oh yes...it starts now no drama....#/×#ĄŁ of a thing....I wasnt gonna remove it again...test fit the new battery and go through the whole process another 2x if it didnt fit/match up....holiday mode....lost enough bark off my knuckles fitting fat hands into spaces designed for an octopus....upside...they cant steal it with no battery in it...IF it starts in any case.....new battery next month when I'm home.....unless I crack Lotto !

ps: the battery was only around $360 ex-Adelaide, which I thought was very well priced considering the location....alternative was same price. Warranty expired 1yr ago...Lasted 3yrs which from Members threads is comparable.

I have to do a 150km round trip here to find one, if the battery measurements are a fit, the crank capacity is the same or more than original and its an AGM battery then its good, AGM is very, very important otherwise you could kill yourself ..............

Don't worry about the Stop/Start rubbish, I looked into that bit and am still confused, its all about the size you know..... mine as pointed out earlier is a stop/start no idea actually.

Now heed my other advice . pack flippers, life jacket and water wings for your trip over to Gods Country, Huey is watering the garden for the next week or so ...............

Will take measurements n images of the fitted battery before buying/trialling the new battery.
Adventure travel path has been plotted to miss the bottom of Souwest Qld and central coast of NSW.
It'll be a steady trip with Road Freight through the roof due to the closure of the East West Rail Line.
Triple fatality west of here when 2 big ones met head on....road was closed and the back log of traffic is horrific...that added to the extra workload created by the Rail closure has Freight corridors clogged....steady steady will be the agenda...no night driving and no risky moves...skill levels of other road users is the limiting factor.
Unfortunately the regular heavy road users had predicted the sad outcome over the past few weeks....tooooo many inexperienced long distance pilots attempting to cash in on the Rail closure...paid by the kilometre...Syd/Perth...'yes boss...Im good to go...I am a very good driver'.....sad sad sad.
The Jeep would have been nice with the needed 'Im outta here' available...planned trip and overnight stops....eyes wide open and Spider senses activated...it will be an adventure

Batteries, my first one lasted 6 years and I purchased the dearer option from battery world, fitted. $400 late 2018, now 5 1/2 years later still going strong, matter of fact far better than the 5 speed gearbox which I am sick of having rebuilt. I have thought of trying to contact as many MY11-13 owners and original buyers and see if a class action could be bought to bear, as honestly the way fca downgraded the rating from what was in the WH model was just not fit for purpose. I reckon virtually every box behind the diesel failed between 60k-90k

I did well getting 150k before servicing it and screwing myself then Bob...lol.
New tranny with an upgraded torque converter within the next few months...after the adventure....spoke with a guru mechanic a few days ago...he was all over it and had the torque converter in his 200 series upgraded when his tranny failed at 70k...BIG boat to tow...gave me the name of the workshop in SA to purchase the torque converter and get the new tranny fitted....progress.

He said 30-40k service intervals max, if being used as a tow tug, on any tranny.
8k cost on his 200 series.
