If it's Commando green, it's a 13.
If the EVIC display shows oil temp and the front grille indicators are clear instead of yellow it's a 14.

If they misled you, at least they misled you to getting one of the best colour Jeeps in years. Welcome aboard

I can only agree with the above posts, "build" year and "Model" year can be different.
Check your VIN, the 10th code in the VIN number will specify "Model Year - MY)
A = 2010
B = 2011
C = 2012
D = 2013
E = 2014

My other concern for you is you originally posted you thought you were buying an Overland, but you say the vehicle isn't Overland spec? If so, there is a big difference in price/options between a Sport and an Overland....the only thing more expensive is a Rubicon....and if they've sold you a Commando Green Rubicon, then I'd hang on to it, lol.

Any concerns, ask to talk to the Dealer Principal rather than a salesperson.

this whole thing is very simple
I work for a large dealership in Brisbane
1. it is illegal to ask someone to waive the cooling off period, in saying that, there is no cooling off on a brand new car, only demos and secondhand vehicles
2. in Australia cars must be sold by BUILD date, they can be advertised as 2013 with 2014 compliance

if you have have any emails to say that you wanted a 2014 model then you should take them to the dealership, and ask to speak to the Dealer Principal, not the manager.

feel free to PM me if you would like further help

Hi folks!

Thanks for all your advice! I got the sports model and not the rubicon.

Unfortunately my wife just lurrrrrrves the commando green, and I must admit its growing on me too. So I'll be hanging on to it.

I got a good price regardless.

$37,500 drive away.

Thanks again!

Now to get a tow bar!

Not sure if this is true unfortunately - mine is a MY13 with clear indicator lenses

Make them throw one on for you since they stuffed you on the year. After all if its a MY2013 its at least 18 months old. What sort of k's did it have on it? Although as tou say $37,500 drive away is a good price for a JKU. Have you picked it up yet?

I already picked it up, had 25kms on it.

Going off topic here, but I want to add a tow bar. Should I get a rear bar fitted at the same time or is it easy to add on later even with a tow bar in place?

Also will fitting in a rear bar without a front bar cause issues?
