The reason I am taking the crank out is because I want to make sure its only the rear main that got damaged and I have a spare block with a std crank and a oil pump that is in better condition.

Im from South Africa so who rebuild the engine is not really gonna help.

The oil pump was finger loose when I took the timing cover off witch means it wasnt tight enough or never torqued. Hope this helps.

I hope the others are not like that. What are the rockers like? would have thought it would have been very dry up the top.

how deep are the groves in the crank journals? if you drag your thumb nail across the journal can you feel the groves ? If so it doesnt look too good. what is the overhead gear like?
Any damage on the cam lobes?
Looks like you better get out your spare engine!
