if there is no power to the OBD socket, and there was before, I suspect a fuse or the wiring under the dash was disturbed when they did the key.

Just take it back to the dealer.
Of course the have to say if it's not their issue they can charge.

The facts are you had low range and power to the OBD , after the upgrade you have neither.

Check that no pins have become dislodged and pushed back inside the OBD port.
Here is the basic pin reference

Thanks Guys

My error in thinking that the power LED not lit on the scanner meant no power at the socket.
Checked with a globe using the socket info (Thanks again Clarky) & there is power at the socket.
So it seems my scanner has failed just sitting in the glovebox, but it was quite cheap.
I have ordered a BlueDriver unit & we'll see what can be done when it arrives.

I won't go to the dealer again because I don't trust them to tell me the truth. Seeing what others have posted here about some dealers, I suspect they would tell me that components needed replacing at my cost when all they should be doing, free of charge, is the proper procedure to clear the code(s) & get low range working again. Chrysler are to blame for this I'm sure. I suspect they are directing the dealers how to proceed so that they can get away with not admitting their fault for the mess they have caused.

I'll be telling as many people as I can about this in the hope that it will spread & influence someone not to buy any Chrysler product.

It appears so, It's reported on the USA forums as reading CRD and NAG1 codes.

Thanks again to Clarky for recommending the BlueDriver scanner. It works well & has fixed the problem. From the comments of others on here, I expect the problem will re-occur. But at least while the BlueDriver unit continues to function, I have a means of getting low range when I need it. The unit is designed in Canada, manufactured in China, so I guess it depends on the quality of the components used as to how long it will last.
