Default Sports exhaust

Firstly, don't get me wrong, I love my TJ.
I can live with the gutless straight 6 'performance'. I can deal with the light-weight parts which bend when I drive it like my old Patrol.

But if it sounded like a V8, it would make me feel so much better about it...

Where's the best place to get one in Melb?
And the most important question, how cheap can I get it done for?

130kw
1500kg's

It isn't that gutless...

I use Carnegie mufflers which is 5 mins from Chadstone or 10 mins from st kilda area.
Ask for Dominic and tell him Zach sent you

You have many options for exhaust work so it comes down to budget.
If you want a better sound and don't want to spend too much, just get the stock muffler replaced with a straight through unit with 2.25" inlet and outlet.
It will provide a much tuffer deeper tone and is one of the best value modifications you can do. Puts a smile on your face every day and makes you drive round with the steroe turned off.

Or you can go all out and have extractors, high flow cat, straight through muffler and change everything to 2.5" piping. But that will cost you up to $1000.
Definitely sounds awesome and gives you more performance.

Sounds like you just want the $100-150 option which makes it sound tuffer

Now you're talking. I've shot off a fax to ask them what they can offer.

I reckon it is. For a 4L engine 130kw is next to nothing

The figures mean little to me. I know what it feels like. It drives like a diesel.
It needs some serious work to make it drive like the sportly little 4WD it looks like.

What size tyres and ratios are you running?
I don't think the jeep is any sort of speed demon, but when stock with 190hp and 1500kg to haul around it goes pretty damn well for a four wheel drive.

Mine is faster now but I have done a bit of work
extractors
high flow cat
2.5" mandrel tubing
2.5" straight through muffler
exhaust is cut off after muffler/t-case
K&N drop in filter
enlarged air box intake
60mm throttle body
60mm throttle body spacer
mild head work
insulated air box and intake pipes
35" tyres
4.56 ratios

Here is a website that will tell you virtually everything you need to know about jeep 4.0 performance.

Have fun
