Thats a great link nutbreak.. helped lots..

Ok the diffs I have are 65in in total, I would like to make them TJ specs 60inchs so I will need to dut them down 5 inches. That is 4 inches wider than wide trac cj diffs.

At 6o inchs with the 6in bushwacker flares(cj and tj tubs are the same width) I should be able to fit 8in rims with no offset under for the road and use the 11in beadlocks with heeps of offset off road.
The next step will be the hard one chopping my new diffs...

Nutbreak looks good, bet it sits square on the road with that track!
what did you do with the brakes? did the cj booster? match the scout stuff?
any engineering issues?

most of the bits are the same so u could use either setup ,but the scout brakes are a little bigger than the cj ones i left them on ,everything else matches up nicely exept for spring hangers, the rear i moved in on the diff and the front outborded on the chassis , it gives a little less articulation up front but being a daily driver it holds corners like a train . there a good write up on the subject here http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-...-cj7-index.htm

ak made the step today, made a jig to mark the 5 inch cut as the tube does not go to the outside of the "C" , marked the cut, cut it with the drop saw, cut the excess tube off the "C", ground down the tube on the "C" till you could see a join mark"ring" around the "c".. cut the tube inside the "C" with hack saw so I could punch it out. Punched it out, ready to fit back on tube.
