New HiFlo water pump and clutch fan fitted seems to run about 5 deg cooler still over 100 got me the 99 xj sits on 93 ish I think my temp gauge is out as the sender at the rear of the head has been replaced but wired up non standard plug to the harness I got a inferred temp gun and was looking at temps looks like about 5 deg difference to the gauge I aimed at the top hose thermostat cover Hope it stays cool for the Bris run next month

Easy way to tell would be to use a resistor instead of the sensor on both cars and see where the gauge sits on both....

how do you wire the fans up is there some sort of relay do they go on at separate times?

There is a couple of ways to go about it, simplest is to have them all go on or off when needed. Can be done easily with a thermal switch and relay. Next is to have a multi-stage controller hooked up to a couple of relays, will turn fans on in stages or control 2 speeds. Best way is to put and inline temp sensor on outlet from engine and a variable speed fan controller hooked up to all three fans, it will then spin all three fans at the required speed to get the needed cooling.

Fan bypass done .....see my other thread for full instructions....its pretty easy
I did notice on the old clutch fan silicone oozing out so I guess someone in the past tried to patch it up
