This issue we feature an article by our US Correspondent Lowell Babcock on "Rubi", a YJ Wrangler that became the concept vehicle for the evolution of the TJ Wrangler. It's a great read on Jeep history and the photos of "Rubi" have never been published before, so Jeep Action readers are the first Jeep enthusiasts in the world to see these great images.

The Cherokee and Grand Cherokee model names have always caused some confusion with new Jeep owners identifying the models. The confusion seems to have escalated lately with the release of the KL Cherokee. I'm not sure of the reason. Cherokees have traditionally had a unique look compared to the Grand Cherokees but it may be attributed to both models now having a similar sleek look.

Maybe Cherokee needs dropping from the Grand name plate and Chrysler could have a Cherokee and a Grand model. While I'm giving name suggestions, how about Wrangler becoming its own Chrysler brand and it can stay true to its offroad heritage.

There is lots of talk and rumours around about the next generation Wrangler. An aluminium body, a wider track and maybe unibody construction, it will be exciting to see the end result.

Enjoy your September /October issue

Hope everyone enjoyed the "Evolution of the TJ" article featuring "Rubi" the YJ Wrangler sitting on coil suspension.
