Default my new Jk crd. not so good start

hey all
I have just brought my first jeep its a 2008 JK 4door crd auto. I picked it up over the weekend and as i was driving it home I had to put my foot down to go up this hill then from no where this rushing air sound came from under bonnet engine light on and NO power (well I shat myself). after been on side of road for half hour i decided to limp mode it to some local mechanic who then found the split turbo hose between cooler and throttle body so we taped it up to get me back on road and just to get home, well since then i have found out this happens a fair bit. so my questions are, if you guys could help me.

*what should i replace hose's with to stop it going again. after market??
*how can i get rid of limp mode without putting scan tool on it to clear it after i have fixed the problem.
Another of couple unrelated questions.
* why is it that when I unlock my car to get something out then lock it again the head lights are on. will lights turn off ?.
* does anyone know of any body having 1 ram for rear lift up window in hard top, as i am in need of one.

any help would be great as i am only new to this jeep world.
cheers KB

Check out www.doubleblackoffroad.com as he has replacement turbo hoses

Yes the light do turn off, it's a safety thing so you can see where you are going at night but you can reprogram it not to do this if you wish

Wranglertj do you know how to program it so the headlights come ON when you unlock the car?

The headlights on with remote unlock is a dealer option to turn off. It should be active by default. Also if you turn the ignition off before turning off the headlights they will turn back on for 30 seconds when you remote lock.

Some of the more advanced non dealer diagnostic systems can also turn on/off these options.

I used a BOSCH system to do mine ages ago. At the time it reported the PCM as being another Chrysler product ( makes sense as OEM's try and multiuse components... ) but all the options and some odd ones that i didn't think would be available were there.

Funnily enough after my first battery failed it no longer blinks the indicators when locking/unlocking... never bothered to reset that.

After looking at the after market hose's i have decided to get some custom stainless pipes made up instead, as by doing this I should not have this problem again and it's cheaper.
do any of you guys know why my auto dip stick keeps poping out, seems strange that every time i go for a bit of a drive by the time i get home its popped back out. its maybe just one of those jeep imperfections that im going to have to get used to.

Cheers KB
