Default Rear bar with tow hitch options??

I'm not sure if I just want a towbar or a rear bar with towbar in it. Is it really worth getting the rear bar when all I think I need is a tow bar that could be used as a rear recovery point and for towing a trailer for camping etc???

Depends on if you plan to increase your tyre size in the future. If you plan on going anything bigger than 33" tyre perhaps buy the rear bar tyre carrier as well, or at least a rear bar that can be upgraded with one. Everything you add, adds weight to the Jeep, which means less you can (legally/safely) carry when required. Find the balance between what you carry in the Jeep to what you pull behind it and you're set

Depends on what you want to pay. The cheaper option is to just fit a tow bar. That's all I have as I have no need or desire to change the rear bumper. It's holds the camper trailer just fine.

The factory style tow bar is not a good recovery point.....it attaches only at the centre of the crossmember, which is the actually the weakest place for the stress of a recovery.
Yes, I know people use it for recovering, but its not designed to do that.
If you want a stock style tow bar, and retain the plastic bumper, get a set of BlackJack Engineering rear recovery points...these are heavy duty (very) steel plates that bolt to each chassis rail and poke through slots you cut in the plastic bumper.
I run a Smittybilt XRC Atlas rear bar/carrier combo, which has the tow bar built in....this steel bar bolts to both chassis rails and the centre of the crossmember where the tow bar normally bolts to.....with the extra strength of the rear bar being integral to the tow bar, I'd have no problem using this as a recovery point if needed.
Just my opinion.....

I've just installed the atlas xrc also and it does semi very solidly made. The tradeoff though is the weight, it comes it at just undr 100kg without the spare on so as NTrubicon said it does decrease your payload quite a bit. That said though I find the jeep rides better with extra weight in it.

It is worth keeping in mind that none of the rear bars with an integrated tow bars are ADR compliant. Some of the rear bars keep your stock tow hitch such as the AEV or ARB bumpers.
