Default Cheap Plastics - Easily Scratched

I am really concerned with the plastic used on the passenger airbag section of the dash.

I have seen those pics on here of the melbourne motor show cars and have actually gone a touched a demo model and they are terrible.

One little touch of you fingernail against the plastic and it is wrecked - you cant rub the mark out.....

They definatley need to change this - the passenger grab handle is right next to it so it will be marked up straight away......

I cant believe Jeep let this through quality control!!!!

Our freinds in the Project JK forum have been jumping up and down re this issue for some I read.

I'm starting to have thoughts now of waiting before I do go ahead and purchase mine just for this very problem.

Would be good to hear from some who have made their purchase and what their experience is with this.

I cant beleive this is a problem worth worrying about. Just get some carpet and stick it over the top. Does it really matter if a dash gets a scratch on it?

Well, I've had my JK 2 weeks now and am a bit dissapointed with the plastic quality (particularly passenger airbag cover) it does scratch very easily, I'm sick of having to tell everyone that jumps into the passenger seat to "mind the dash!" oh well... I would still do it all again tho, no regrets here!

Hopefully there will be an aftermarket replacement dash (for passanger air bag cover) in the near future!

Dashboard mods - not something I would ever think of doing.

Bring on the full leather interior!

Its stopping me buying one - i dont want to spend 50g on a car that will get scratched up by people holding the passenger grab handle!!

Hopefully they will fix this soon!!
