Default Jeep No More

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to obey the road rules and stop when a set of lights went Amber to Red...

Unfortunately the Kenworth T401 Tipper with trailer attached (both full of gravel), didn't, couldn't and wasn't going to stop in time. The driver of the truck did his best to avoid sending me into orbit, however, the net result is my Grand Cherokee is now spare parts.

Repair quote came back at $41,000 to repair and mMy Insurance company wrote her off last week.

She was a good car, at least I got to walk and and not be carried away!!!

Sorry but Who say you have to stop at a yellow light? Your supposed to stop if its safe to do so. Not slam your brakes I second it changes. I known what you'll say too, the truck should of been travelling at a safe distance to be able to come to a safe stop. I drive 62 ton 26 meter b/doubles, it takes close to 40 to 50 odd meters to stop at 80ks.(if the truck is in working order lol) if we drive that far from the car infront other cars would jump in between (as they always do) then I would have to slow down more to open up a gap for them. That'll mean id never get anywhere.

Im not having a go, just giving the truckers perspective for next time. That could have ended very badly for you. And the truckie.
ps dont drive beside truck if you don't have to coz they may have to swerve if the cant stop.
