Default engine noise at idle

I have noticed a slight noise when idling, like a water pump/idler pulley or something like that, just on idle but goes away with the slightest increase in rpm. Still running ok, no overheating issues.
Need to worry?

If it isn't a worn idler it could also be something weird like the decoupler pulley on the alternator.

Do you get a chirp when you stop the engine, if so this could be a good indicator of a problem

Funny you should mention that, I do get a chirp, but it's when I start the engine. I thought that may be a sign of a loose belt or worn pulley? Are you thinking the two noises are related?

Guys, sounds a lot like what I have had (and many others). Please see my posts and resolution of the problem at that thread ''2013 jk engine chirp''

Hopefully yours is just this simple issue (water pump).
