Default paint protection

Gday All
Just wondering how many have ever purchased the paint protection quite often offered on all new vehicles, and your thoughts if it is worth the cost or not?
cheers

You maybe interested in the attached NRMA blog about the subject. Plenty of comments to confuse the issue further but I reckon that it is a thumbs down waste of money. Good reading topspark

yep waste of money from dealer. Third party products look interesting like

www.gtechniq.com.au

But I went with Wolfgang products.

Waste of money, better off giving it a good coat of Porzalack Wax every so often.

They threw it in as part of the deal at purchase after we had negotiated a price we werer happy with. Strategic hesitations sweetened the deal.....2006 KJ Sport in light Khaki.

I do think the paint presently looks a lot fresher when washed compared to our other new auto purchases over the years that also metallic paint. Those vehicles got a great deal more washing and polishing.

I am sure the paint is lasting better.
It is either better quality paint (can't bring myself to believe that) or the protection works. A couple of things convince me of this:

I have changed my emphasis and have become almost obsessive (rather than just meticulous) in terms of the mechanical maintenance so that is done in preference to washing.

I do know for sure bird excreta and for that matter BAT pooop still washes off very easily and I have had NO burn through on the Jeep metallic paint from either type of POOOP.

It ate holes in the Ford and several Toyotas overnight.....

She comes up as good as new with just a wash after having had only a couple of polishes with Nanowax in 6 years and not a great deal of washing.
