Default wk2 2012 rear recovery with tow bar?

Hello All
Just an enquiry to anyone that has had a factory installed tow bar fitted to the rear of their 2012 wk2 GC.
Is the rear recovery hook still attached, or was it removed when the bar was fitted?
I have a mate with a 2011 wk2, which still has the hook mounted on the side of the tow bar support bracket, yet mine was removed by the dealer when the bar was installed.
I was told by the dealer that this was a directive ( from jeep ) to remove the hook on the 2012 models when the tow bar is fitted???
cheers

Mine's a 2011 and it still has it on. I think I've read this somewhere else either on here or on an American forum. Seems a bit strange to me because I'm pretty sure there isn't anything different in the rear end between 2011 and 2012 models. Also seeing the 2012 doesn't have the front tow hooks, and no rear if there is a towbar on you wonder what happen's if the need for a recovery arises... jeep really need to get their sh*t together

When the dealer fitted our Mopar tow bar they removed the rear hook and didn't reinstall.
I asked the question over on Jeepgarage and there were quite a few 2012's in Aus that had rear hooks refitted with the bar - but also a few that weren't replaced.
I got my hook back from the dealer and will eventually remove the bumper and replace - not an easy job because the tow bar has to come off again.
One poster fitted his own Mopar bar and noted that the fitting instructions with the bar said to replace the hook.
I don't think there is a directive to leave off - more like cutting corners by the installer.....

I got mine delivered today, and got the class IV tow pack with the car - and still have the rear recovery point.

JnK, I would go back to the dealer and request the hook be reinstalled at no charge.
I have a WK2 with factory tow bar and the dealer left the hook attached.
