Default steering box problems

hi all, i have just purchased a 2nd hand steering box and installed it thisarvo, the problem i have is that it seems to be rooted!! all it seems to do is pull hard left even with the wheels on the ground....can anybody tell me if i have done something wrong (wich i dont think i have) or wat may be the cause of this steering box being rooted!! i spent the last spare money i have till well after christmas and kinda feeling a bit ripped off at the moment!

I assume youve got hyd. hoses right way round & youve bleed system?
Otherwise it looks like it might be torque rod is twisted (stuffed).

yeh the steering box was out of a tj wrangler. the hoses were around the right way and had bled the lines to get the air out...i ended up going back to where i got it from and swapped it over for a steering box out of an xj cherokee. the boxes appear the same to me but i really am not sure?? put it in and all seems sweet now so they must be the same.
thx for your reply turbomart...i didnt think they would have any boxes there to exchange or would give me a refund so all has worked out well
