Default is my steering wheel rooted?

Guys,

my hands are black every time i drive the CJ7. I've cleaned and scrubbed that factory 3 spoke wheel with all sorts of stuff and it keeps on leaving me with black sh*t all over my hands within minutes of driving it... What can i do other than tossing it?

Can you use something like saddlesoap? I know its for leather, but maybe? I used to use it on my cars leather interiors and on steering wheels... just be careful that it does not make it slippery...

But if its rubber, well then I would say its on its way out, cover is the best thing for it...

Armor all???

same thing used to happen driving my old 1975 LandCruiser.
Ended up getting a cheap wood finish sports steering wheel, best thing I ever did.
No black hands, and not hot after being parked in the sun all day.

Take it to a motor trimmer and get it re-covered
