I finally got round to working through the fault finding in the manual. In test when checking the the wastegate circuit to ground i dont get any reading on the multimeter. But when I check the circuit to the ECM it is under 5 ohms. From what I can tell there is no problem with the wiring I did however notice a leak between the DPF and the metal exhaust gasket which I had previously tried to seal with Holts fire gum as the gasket that I had bought from a mercedes agent was a little smaller than the one I was replacing. I have since cleaned all of the fire gum off but the leak is worse. Does anyone know how far from the edge must the gasket sit in order to create a good seal?
I have spoken to a turbo specialist and he recommended that I remove the DPF. Has anyone done this before? Would this cause any problems with the engine as I know that it requires some back pressure?
