Mopar pulls out those ridiculous prices. I've just ordered a front and rear set of mudflats from Mopar and price is ~$100. Mopar and FCA are the problem

It's the same for pretty much all their part prices. Several years ago pre Oz recall, clockspring $260 on the doorstep from U.S., $1179 pick up from the dealer when they finally get it from the warehouse... Last month, $450 for a radiator fan & shroud from dealer, on the doorstep in 5 days from the U.S. for $180...

Could Jeep not see what is happening with their pricing, some other vehicle manufacturers (Ford Australia is an example) saw this happening and lowered their pricing for parts to be competitive, I purchased a crank angle sensor cheaper from Genuine Holden than what Bursons quoted me... spare parts only make money when selling, not sitting on the shelf. I am in the Truck parts industry and it is the same overpriced Genuine part compared to realistic Aftermarket.

mine is 2 years old with 35000kms, 2dr, manual, sport. lightly modded (2inch lift, wheels, 33s, barwork, snorkel etc)

fixed under warranty:
1. camshaft position sensor and wiring harness replaced after throwing up engine codes and going into limp mode whilst offroad. prior to this I had done some fairly epic corrugated roads so might easily have shaken something loose here but can't say for certain as the fault occurred months later on a rutted steep hill climb.

2. door window rattling around inside the door when down - simple fix

not fixed under warranty due to "offroad use":

1. clutch noises after 1 year progressively getting worse(basically the same issue everyone talks about)...I had a Heavy Duty aftermarket clutch installed at my expense, but problem is solved and the aftermarket clutch is way better. I was advised by repairer that mud in the clutch bell housing was the root cause of the issue and was pointed to the bungs under it as a way of cleaning it out after heavy mudding - not sure if anyone does this so yet to try it.

2. handbrake issue - although they readjusted it and cleaned it out of mud and its much better than before but far from perfect.

as an aside the above 2 issues are apparently mud related however its not something i deliberately sought out. I would say it should be well within the parameters of the vehicle

anyways loving the jeep regardless

Just for people's hand brake issues......hold the button in and lift and drop the handle several times....you'll feel the spring tension gets better and the handbrake feels like it sets better....not a long term fix, but you can do it occasionally and it helps a little.

Everyone complaing about handbrakes have most likely never had a TJ before. Handbrake was installed for legal reasons, not for function.
