The first signs of a potential problem emerged yesterday when the secret phone number was revealed and posted to the Whirlpool user forum. The breach was discovered last night and it’s understood Jeep took actions to attempt to rectify the breach.

Many users on Jeep’s Facebook page complained that because the app was hacked and the number made public, Jeep should have changed the number or the competition as it represented an unfair advantage for those people who saw it.

The problem with the number should have stopped the promotion until there was time to change the number.
A part from this blunder, jeep could have been smelling like a rose.
The whole comp was not thought out well as it would have been much more random for jeep to accept all calls & then use a lottery draw to choose the 10 & the back up ones. They probably would have got coverage on national news for the draw ~ more advertising!
I didnt bother entering, no smart phone, & these promos never end well.
I wonder if some of the unhappy ones will be booby trapping the path to the location?

Far- k me... break out the violins!!

What a bunch of bloody sooks.

It's something that it still being bred into our children now. I see it every week at our kids sport venues. Bad sportsmanship is encouraged! (by parents) . Bad attitudes are encouraged and cheating is overlooked.

Not by me, though. I'm the bane of their little chilblains sporting existences. And if the misses didn't pull me up, I'd let a few parents know what I thought of their parenting skills too.

I'm sick of it!! Sick of 'poor me' with out even trying.

'I lost because of....' not simply 'shit, went down that game. Not my day. Still had a good time'. or how about 'the best man/woman/team won.' ??

Far ken excuses!!! AAAHHH!!! What will be, will be!!! If you can fix it, BLOODY FIX IT!! OR SHUT UP!!!

[sigh] where's my mushroom?

From an entrant yer sure it could have run a bit smoother. But the hate shown on Facebook etc was wrong. It was a competition with a great prize. What did people think they were the only one going to try and win. Well done and good luck to those that got through

I really didn't expect to Win. I closed and opened the app numerous times from 9.00am but the ability to call the number through the app didn't happen until about 9.25 on my phone. By which time they'd all been sold.
My wife couldn't get the details at all on her phone.
We're not pissed we didn't win just upset that after following all the rules to the letter we weren't afforded the same chance to win as those that did.
I think that's why most people were cranky.
The other thing is that businesses these days will go to the cheapest IT companies to build their apps. Apps that become very unreliable and unstable, just like me this morning at 9.20.... unstable. Haha

I was talking to my local dealer about an hour ago and they had winners from everywhere except the NT, and he got abused because a woman didn't win, she had booked a car carrier and hubby had booked time off. Why would you have a booking on hold when it could have been anywhere?
