Great fellas. I've left a fair amount of time between now and then, so see how you go. Some blokes from ACT are already booked, so it should be lotsa fun. Your Jeeps don't need to be "Outback Challenge" ready... just topped up with all good fluids, good engine belts and the like. We'll obviously try and extract/fix anyone with problems, but it's pretty remote up there......
The terrain is a good C+ to B depending on the weather... I've seen a fully-decked 80-series come all the way down going sideways because of the mud and automatic gearbox/braking problem. His gearing is way taller than ours though and the lockup on the torque converter doesn't work very well....
