Default Tie Rod Upgrade ?

referring to this article on Go Jeep webpage

http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoTierodUpgrade.htm

As far as I understand from that, to do this on a XJ with no other mods would require

1 x LH Draglink
1 X LH Draglink tie rod
2 x Adjuster sleeve (welded together, as mentioned)

from reading his article, it would be a straight bolt up

Could probably bring the parts in from Rock Auto quite cheap
ie ~$50 (+ freight)

any comments on whether this is worthwhile ?

At this time I am inclined to just be satisfied with new tie rod ends

One thing he doesnt mention is how well the taper of the larger drag link ends mate into the steering knuckle where the tie rod end fitted

Hit Wooders up , hes making me a 32mm tie rod.
I ordered WJ M24 mm tierod ends , as he didnt have stock .
Was meant to be quicker , but Rockauto sent them a month and a half ago.
Not here , Fedex useless , Rock said wait 2 weeks , if new ones don't turn up , contact us

I've ordered the LHD drag link and just waiting for some threaded bar to arrive. Going to flip the LHD one over for over the knuckle and then use the RHD bar flipped as an over the knuckle tie rod. That is the plan at least, a lot to visualise so might have to improvise once I start.

check out Go Jeeps web page

If I understand what you want to do, I believe he states that the knuckle needs to be drilled out, and an insert welded in

In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable (ie would never pass an engineer inspection)

I do believe he alludes to this

FYI and research...I could be misunderstanding, or just plain wrong !

where did you order the LH draglink and how much was freight ?
