I was looking down inside the front frame rails yesterday actually and was quite impressed with the coating inside. Often not done much at all but could clearly see it had been dipped. Not sure if they are galvanized like the XJ though being from Austria instead and might not have the same salted roads problem of the US?

I have only sold the taillights and a mirror so far and someone in the US wants my chrome roof rails. You know they charge $1001.30 for the roof rails here!!!
I am happy to sell things I wont be using from it but wont be anything from the B pillar forward interior wise or anything from underneath the Jeep. 25% of the dealer price is what I hope to get seeing as it was only on the road for 12 months and in excellent condition.

Really? I just simply removed my sensor from the screen. It is done all the time. You then just refit on the new screen.

Havent even seen it myself...So Im guessing its a module or similar on the outside? The way it was described I got the impression it was twin wires or something laminated in that used the water to conduct between them...wipers on! So part of the screen and hence worth its weight in gold.

Cheers I will pass this on, sounds like its just an excuse to overinflate the price!

Matt.

No wires at all on my 2008 model at least in the screen. Everything is on the inside and glued to the screen with a silicon like rubbery clear like adhesive. I just unclipped the black body that has the electronics inside of it. There is a small area on each side that pushes a tab out. It leaves a translucent red plastic piece stuck to the screen which I got off with a spatula and then rubbed the left over glue off with my fingers and cleaned it.

Yeah the rain sensor is up near the centre mirror, it's just stuck to the glass. No reason to use a factory screen, someone's profiteering.

Probably a bit early to think about this but was asked what colour I was thinking of doing it.
Still undecided but want to use a Willys or Jeep colour to keep it 'in the family'.
Looking at maybe at the new 2011 Wrangler.

or the Jeep Rescue colour.

or a darker green in the Gladiator concept.

Different lighting
