Well, One of my parcels arrived yesterday, came straight thru customs, the other has been grabbed by them, and I have been sent the letter about clearing it through customs, That I have to use a third party "Customs Broker" at my expense and I would have to pay a $90.00 Customs processing charge for them to process the paperwork, and GST if applicable.

THEIR PAPERWORK IS HOWEVER WRONG!!! THEY CLAIM THE PACKAGE HAS A VALUE OF $939.00USD , BUT IT IS ONLY $379.00USD.

Now I have to go through a maze of bureaucracy, to prove the value, I have sent them the orders and invoicing , then I get back an email, stating it will take 5-8 working days to look at it. The item came into Brisbane on the 18th, I didn't get a leter of notice until the 20th, they say they will start charging Demmurrage on the 26th, (Demurrage is a daily charge for holding the parcel) So they have a system, designed to charge. They start by taking two days to even notify you, they then take 8 working days to even answer an inquiry, but only give you 8 calendar days before they start charging. Oh, the letter does say you can get it done quickly if you pay the third party "customs broker" and their customs charges, ---seems an awful lot like extortion.

And even if after I prove the cost is under a $1000.00 so the package should never have had to go through the process, how long will it be before I get it???? Who knows.

Seems like they are trying to cut off Australians from the world market, and this is before the 1st of June, when the $1000.00 window for gst free imports is removed. Watch the prices here is Australia start to skyrocket as the retailers go back to their over charging ways.

Seems my email worked, they have very quickly cleared the package.

It still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Don't get me wrong Dave, I deal with and buy most of my parts here , not thru Jeep though. I still have the diffs I bought from you years ago in my old KJ , ready to move them into my newer KJ. And use local places to supply the fitment items and do labour. It's parts I can't get, or people just don't seem to be very interested in getting in for me, or, the only part is not of the better quality.

As far as certain items go tho, there was really some overcharging going on out there look at electrical good ect.

Anyways, Basic parts are hopefully here, rest will be supplied and fitted locally.
