Default What a morning.

What a faarrrkkkkin morning. Sold one of my trucks to a guy from NSW yesterday afternoon.

The guy made it to the other side of Gundagai when disaster hit. He had the truck for a whole 15hrs.

When the paper work was completed and moneys paid i asked him if he had sorted out his insurance which he replied no I for got.

I told him if it were me I would be on the phone sorting it now but he said he will be right and it will be fine.

I told him I wouldn't cancel the insurance I had on the truck until Friday, well.

He had got hit in the rear by a b-double that hard it shunted him about 400m up the road and into the bushes. He was doing about 90 kms when he got hit.

The RTA pulled the ECU out of the B-Double for a down load, looks like he might be in a bit of shit.

Here are some pics of the carnage.

And Im left to sort out the insurance lol.

Best you have a long hard open talk to your insurer.
when this sort of thing happens there is no such thing as friends.
The purchaser was a fool. One call & he would have had a cover note.
I hope he paid you with a bank cheque or cash.
This could get very messy.
Good luck & best wishes !!

Id be informing the insurance company that you sold the vehicle. Stuff taking the hit on my own insurance! Unless the buyer is going to re-reimburse you for the claim, and the future penalties on your no claim bonus etc.

I agree, The insurance co has been notified and told the full story. The guy who bought the truck has been told that the accident wasn't his fault and the b-double was speeding hence why the ECU was removed for a download by the RTA.

The RTA wouldn't let the B-double be towed/moved until there investigators had gone right over the truck.

All I can say is thank god no one was killed.

There both bloody lucky, the guy who bought my truck only has a few broken ribs and a couple of bumps and scrapes. The guy in the double was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries and a few other dramas.

I was paid with a bank cheque and I had paid for a quick clearance, thank god the money has cleared in my account.

Will see how it pans out tomorrow with the insurance co. But believe me if it was the guy who bought my trucks fault and it does affect my insurance rating he will be on his own and will be learning his lesson the hard way.

Here are a few more pics.

Glad to hear that no-one was injured too massively, but what a sucky day!

Do you have any pics of the jeep? would be interesting to see what sort of damage it sustained, and will give me another opportunity to trot out the 'that'll buff right out' line

I think you will find that when ToEasy referred to 'One of his trucks', he was referring to a FreightLiner Cabover.

I don't think you can you use the line.
