Default KJ lift kits in Melbourne.

Hi,

I am new. I am currently looking for a KJ to buy...still selling my car but. The quicker I sell mine the quicker get my Jeep

Anyway, I was wandering who has had their KJ lifted in Melbourne. As I want to get this done asap when I buy it. My Dad bought a CRD and its sooo low compared to his 80 series Cruiser.

1. What did you buy (kit)?
2. Are you happy with what you paid and the service?
3. Where did you get it done?
4. What size tyres/wheels are you using with the new setup?

Mainly I am looking for places that will do it for me... I do have spring compressors but I don't want to go through that again.

there are 2 very good after market guys in melbourne

USA 4x4
Poly 4x4

used both and both very good with service and price for all different stuff from suspension, lockers, etc

theres a guide on a US site that gives a tyre guide for kj's do a search

ARB do lifts as well of course

ps there is about 10mm difference in clearence between that truck you mentioned and the KJ

& join a club will help understand you jeep and how good it is (JOCV or MJOC are club options)

Had USA4X4 fit the suburban 3.5" lift to my KJ. Couldn't be happier with service and end result.

You might also want to think about getting skids fitted as well, Tony from USA4X4 was looking at creating his own skid to suit the KJ. Well worth chasing him up.

This lift allows 245/75/16 tyres. About as big as you can go without turning the KJ into a mini monster truck like NO1KJ has

Like Tasar suggested, I would also recommend joining one of the Melbourne Jeep Clubs, great place to meet like minded jeepers and show off the capabilities of the KJ

No lift yet...Waiting for ARB to develop a better front spring to cope with the crd's weight. Just received transfer and transmission skids from Leo Muller in Brisvegas (talk to shane in spares) $240.00 including shipping and fitting kit (bolts/inserts and a tool to assist with the inserts/fitting instructions).

I put ARB lift kit with 927 springs on front & 948 springs on rear to an 06 CRD. Lift achieved is fine (now sits at around 735-740 mm). Front springs are way too soft to handle weight of diesel - excessive nose dipping and bounce, leads to shokcer faded pretty quickly. Rear springs terrific. I would look elsewhere to ARB for front springs.
