Smile Jeep JK gearing???

Hi guys I was just looking on the Jeep web page and they said that the Latest Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon has this..
"the Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with Tru-Lok® Electronically Locking Differentials, Mud Terrain Tires, the Rock-Trac® Transfer Case, a 4:1 Low-Range Ratio and Rock Rails. A 73.1:1 Crawl Ratio with the manual transmission"

But can anyone explain what it is?

What does the crawl ratio mean? is that number good?

Sorry guys only new to this

Bigger the number the slower the vehicle will crawl.

For the Rubi manual it's: 1st gear ratio x X-fer case ratio X axle ratio
4.46 x 4.0 x 4.10 = 73.1

Simples

In other words, in low range, in first, at idle, it will do less that 1 kilometer per hour (well, at least my manual rubi does)

Means you can use the vehicle's torque at low speeds easily without riding the clutch....for climbing or traversing broken ground.
Rubicons are a very seriously capable 4WD right off the dealer floor......the regular JK's are no slouch, either.

OK I am surprised that the Vintage WW2 Willys jeep was not lower geared?

1st gear 2.665:1
2nd 1.564:1
3rd 1.000:1

And a 1.97 low range..

with 4.8 diffs..

Thought It would be lower geared for the rough country they drove in ww2
