You can get a knock from the strut top nut, it can be as little as an eighth of a turn in it.

First job on my 2007 CRD was to replace the sway bar bushes.

Best $35 I have spent I reckon. Annoying knock gone.

I have new glow plugs to go in and will be doing the oil and filter this weekend.

Did my first big trip in it... Sydney to Melbourne, first 500kms was fine, Jeep purring along. Then she threw a code (1st oxygen sensor bank 2), then another, and another and another. Grand total is now:
Both 1st sensors
MAP sensor
EGR sensor

Fuel use went up and up, ended with a 16L/100km average from the computer, was strangely higher when on the Hume (sitting on 110) than when I detoured to some country roads @ 100 undulating through the hills. I threw some new oil and did the front diff oil (the rear can wait as it doesn't have a drain plug ), I'll do some reading on the sensors but I'm almost up to 200k on it so its probably time for a few of these things to go.

That's a suspicious run of sensors so close together.
I believe all those share the 5V circuit with the engine oil pressure sender. Sometimes a fault in the pressure sender can cause downstream sensors to throw codes ("circuit low", etc.) while the pressure sender itself doesn't.

MDS would've been disabled with the codes, consumption at 110 without it can be quite high. I'm not surprised that it was better going a little slower on the country roads. If the EGR valve is stuck partially open that might contribute too.

Windex get yourself an outboard motor fuel primer bulb and connect short pieces of hose to each end..poke one end into the diff filler and pump it out...works very well...then use it to fill the diff with oil from a bottle or there are oil pumps you can get to fill it like the Tom Thumb 1 litre bottle. I use to do these methods but now I use an attachment to a drill to do the filling.

I did the same as this recently on my WH but just used a normal hand oil pump just swapped the long hose to the bottom and slid to the bottom of the diff. worked perfect just gives you a fair workout on the arms!
