Default Pentastar owners check this!

Hi guys. When i was crawling around underneath my rig the other day just checking that everything looks ok, i noticed my bottom radiator hose was just touching the round chassis cross brace. Pulled the hose away a little to get a better look and found that the hose has been rubbing, and you can feel it too. I wrapped some thin (about 3mm) rubber around the hose and zip tied it on in a couple of places, being careful to go too tight to allow for expansion (took these photos before i did that). Definitely something to check out everyone.

Good find! I only have the 3.8 but had the end result of a similar thing in mine. The hoses from the pump to the heater core came off the mount & chafed through on the EGR pipe. I got lucky & the dealer replaced them under warranty.

Thats the go. I'm still under warranty as well so will be trying to do the same. I checked underneath a couple of months ago also but must not have been looking hard enough!

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked mine. It is not touching and it looks like it has never rubbed. The plastic clip that attaches the hose to that chassis brace seems to be doing its job.

Good spotting there, another one for everyone to check out also is ive already had my bottom rad hose replaced due to it rubbing on the little adjuster screw on top of the steering box.
i only noticed as i had the airbox out to change headlight globes, was fixed under warranty straight away.
checked the wrangler in the show room and could hardly fit my finger between the hose and steering box. So id suggest all pentastar owners to check this also
