That's a disaster from start to finish. Lucky noone was seriously injured or hurt!!

I have seen some stupid recoveries before and even that top gear episode where they got there fourby bogged and obviously no idea how to recover with one of them (not Clarkson or Hammond but the other one ) holding on to the snatch strap when being recovered and got knocked to the ground and
Lucky wasn't killed....then publised for the show as entertainment. Gives us a bad name!

That's right, lucky nobody got killed.

In principal, I avoid criticising enthusiasts in trouble. I've helped recover guys in the bush, needed recovery myself & no doubt will need help again some time. These poor turkeys make it hard though...

Err since the video is from 2012 it's really more like dumbarse from 2 years ago - not dumbarse of the month.

Heard the guy videos say the word chains, but didn't really see 'em myself in the video.
The strap wasn't attached to the axle - it was onto the rear bumper/hitch.
Yes guys still a dumbarse for not being in the vehicle helping steer, or just not being in the way. But not the above issues.

Saw one bloke holding a can in a cooler - no idea if it was beer or other alcoholic bevvie or just Fanta - so bit of an assumption.
Mostly come over as a bunch of Fwits that have no idea on safe pratices, but conversely some "observations are more assumptions than fact
