If they do this engineering, my guess is it would only be valid in Victoria only. This means it will be good for you Victorians, but for anyone who may have the idea to cross the border and get their interstate registered JK fitted at Jeep Konnection, it would be a pointless exercise and a waste of money.

In reference to jeep konnection, I just found out.

Yes they have successfully engineered the AEV lift and for under $500 can have it signed off for your jeep by a engineer without doing another lane change. This certifys the lift only.

Those with larger tyres upto 37's can also can get signed off but only after they have upgraded your diffs using currie housings etc, which would be a few bob.

So In my opinion we lift our jeeps to add bigger rubber without doing there whole package it would be worthless and only viable to those starting from scratch. For those that already have a lift, Then the cost to upgrade to there lift or the diffs would cover the costs for your own lane change test, with your current setup.

Victorian jeepers only.

Default Engineering for lift

Considering they've made an effort to have it engineered where as several other "jeep specialists" simply change the subject or fob customers off it has to be a good thing.
We all know the day is coming when insurance companies won't touch great than 2" lifts, the largest underwriting firm already has said no more new policies for great than 2" lift even if they are engineered.
We heard on Tuesday night the police in Victoria are already starting to look at 4WD's when they're off road for illegal mods.

Copied and pasted direct from the WA DoT website in relation to criteria for interstate transfer of vehicles:

-The vehicle is unmodified; or has been modified and issued with a modification permit from an Australian Jurisdiction; or has a modification that does not require approval

So they will recognise engineering approvals from other states. To do it here is the same deal as described for VIC, ie pay an engineer and hire Barbagallo.

That is awesome, we might have to drive to NSW to visit the in-laws next time

EDIT: Can you post the link for that page for those of us that are too lazy to search please?

No problem: http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/20881.asp

It will still need to go over the pits if you haven't owned it for 12 months when you go to transfer it.
