Default Rear Wheel Carrier WH Grand Cherokee

2009 Post Hi all, I have been doing a bit of research on rear mounted, spare wheel carriers.

I have received several replies from Victorian manufacturers:
Kaymar can but won't unless they have confirmed orders for 100 units - cute.

Allterrain4x4 said "Hi John, We can build to suit your model but we would require a vehicle for approx 2 weeks to do so. Regards, Dragan"

Now that's got to be worth something to someone??? I'm currently in Townsville, so no can do. If you're interested call them, their details are on their website - http:www.allterrain4x4.com.au

February 2010 info added In response to a PM from Jagsy in WA, I have added some links, in most cases they are a link to a thread that have other links and or pics, hope this helps Paul.

David - thanks for your enquiry.

We'd be happy to look at your need for a wheel carrier for the Grand
Cherokee. Understand that a one off requires design and engineering which
adds to the cost, and your wheel carrier could end up costing close to
$2500. If you'd like to still look at it with us, let me know.

Where are you located? We're in melbourne.

Regards,

Simon

Valpacer, I have had some more info here, I have known about Tiregate in the states for some time.
ASP777 is following this one up, we need to know if we can still use a weight distribution hitch with it and still tow 3500Kg to manufacturer's specs.
Also there are a lot of WH CRD owners who have purchased these as a 'torquey' tow vehicle. questions, questions!

Hi John,

I have seen the tiregate site, but never got any return emails so didnt chase them up. Im keen to see wht ASP777 can find out!

This idea suits my needs, as i never use a spare round town anyway, and only carry them when offroad or touring. Im aiming to get the LRA tank by end of year. My towing isnt so bad as the camper comes in under 1500kg.
