Well, kinda.
I am in the process of putting together 247 -242 transfer case conversion and as part of this I got a 242 transfer case off 2002 Cherokee with about 200K on the clock.
As I disassembled it I found a broken piece of fork insert at the bottom of the input shaft and all six fork inserts in the correct place and fully intact.
Now, I am trying to put it together.
Does it mean that the case has been repaired at some point of time?
It there any sign to see that the case has been rebuilt in the past?
It does look quite good inside with no signs of obvious wear and tear, but I have not cracked many transfer cases before (zero, to be really accurate) so I may not know what to look for.
Any input is appreciated.
