Default Yet Another JEEP Owner!!!

G'Day Folks,

Live in Adelong NSW, work for a building supplies company and the missus n I love our fishing and camping so therefore we just recently purchased an 02' Grand Cherokee, Although the motor may be shot i got it for a bargain price, immaculate throughout, 1 owner and i have the $$$ sitting there to do the necessary rebuild or perhaps even buy a new motor to drop in. Guess I'm here to gather as much info as I can, being the first jeep we have owned I've got no doubt I'll need it!!

Cheers mate, it's 4.7ltr v8 not quite sure what exactly is wrong with it though....but it does have a knock in the top end that I've been reading alot about. So i guess i just try a few things then if they don't work I'll pull it down and I'm pretty sure I'll find the drama then.

Welcome to the madness
Those 4.7's were monstrously powerful and bulletproof, I'd kill for one

The knock sounds like someone forgot to change the oil

We will soon find out

Thanks Dustbowl, Yeah one of the reason i grabbed onto it was the power although the missus wasn't too sure but it'll grow on her

As for the knock I'm pretty sure it was a lack of oil change, hell of a shame for them to own such a vehicle then neglect to perform minor maintenance on it.
