Who were you? Buckland Valley Saturday 10/5
Spent a few days up around the Blue Rag/ Mt Murray/ Buckland Valley at the end of the week while the weather was dry. Came Saturday morning it had started to rain & get cold so time to go home. Came out of a side track onto the Buckland Valley track & there was a convoy of late model jeeps. they all had white circle stickers on them with a number, ~ way to organized for me. I guess they thought that if an XJ with a pop up camper behind it can come out a track, it must go some where. I just waved as they went down the side track.
Now after crossing the river the track goes into the bush & there are 3 ways you can go. 1/ about 2km of very narrow track with a steep drop on one side & no where to turn around & an abrupt end. 2/ A long windy track that just gets more & more overgrown, it used to come out over near Bright. havent been able to go all the way for over 5 years. There are a few spots to turn around. 3/ An easy track that continues up the valley for a good distance I can do in 2wd, & joins back onto the main road at the bridge/ford where a DSE fire fighter rolled a troopy & died during the fires before the last lot.
I hope they got the right track.
Down closer to Porepunkah it was like every man & his dog had decided to go wheeling, glad I was on my way home.
