Unhappy Need some help/advice - JEEP WRANGLER 2016 Diesel JK

Hi All,

I’m new to the JEEP fam and the off-road experience. I purchased a JEEP WRANGLER 2016 JK Diesel 2.8l Auto a couple of weeks ago. It’s been driving fine with no issues or problems until today.

Went for a drive, and as I was driving mid acceleration, it kind of misfired or jerked. Now as I got to my destination and came to park, I put it in reverse and it immediately stalled. I put it back into neutral and turned it on again and put it in reverse and It went into reverse and I parked. On my way back, it did the same thing a few times during acceleration where it would jerk/misfire. Parked and a couple of hours later drove home, no issues no misfire or anything.

Just for some insight as to what has been done prior to this, a week ago I had the car lifted using a 2” lift kit and new tyres fitted. (Not sure if this is relevant but thought to mention it.

Any help or advice from anyone would be appreciated, as mentioned before I am new to the whole off-roading game and to the JEEP Fam.

Thanks in advance !

Replace your crankshaft position sensor. Easy job.

Hey Mate,

Do you know if the crankshaft position sensor is specific to diesel or do they work on both? i cant seem to find a diesel one, they all seem to be specific to the petrol type?
