Hi,

I will be spending a few days in Wangaratta visiting some family over Easter and was wondering if anybody could suggest any tracks to try that would be close.

I have a 6 month old JKU Rubicon with 2" lift not afraid to drive the thing, it was taken up the Powerlines at Newnes on the seventh day of ownership with out any issues.

Mt Bruno is west of Wang about 15-20 minutes and has a few tracks running through the hills there. Can't comment on how interesting they are, or how good the access is. If you're up for a big trip from Wang, check out Alpine national park

Lastly try Wangaratta 4x4 club http://www.wangaratta4x4club.org.au and see if they can give you more info.

Dom,
If you dont mind a bit of a drive, head up the Great Alpine road to Myrtleford, turn right to lake Buffalo. Turn left just before the lake & follow around the side of it. When you get up near the top there is a track that crosses the river & then around the other side of the lake. up & around a bit, there is a track on your left called Dozer track ( I think or maybe its called grader track). Up through there it gets a bit interesting.

Thanks guys, I will check these out in the next few days. Bit busy at the moment. I was just after a drive that was a little challenging but safe to do on my own with no winch and possibly nice country to look at and setup for lunch. Don't mind of it's a whole day thing.
