IMO it doesn't have to be a PM but when it comes across as a threat its not very nice. Having learnt ways to write over the last 15 years I know too well how not checking what you write before you post can come across as aggressive. IMO its not a bad idea just to check what you have written before pushing the post button. In regards to the post that began all this "one word" could have been replaced with "please" and it would have achieved the same result but not coming across rude.

Regards A

I saw the incident your referring to and while I thought it was maybe a little harsh it wasn't out of line.
There are rules outlined they need to be followed.
If someone wants the opportunity to advertise Jeep stuff to a Jeep community at no cost it shouldn't be too hard to follow a simple template.
I think the cranky Elmo avatar exaggerates the comment lol.

Its not a matter of putting up with a lot ,rather a better idea that all is not as simple as a pm and the time it takes to go through the process , often i do send pm`s and post warnings depending on circumstance or my mood or both , but considering the effort put in to make the for sale forum free and fair , small effort on behalf of the person posting is expected .
I mod on AJOR for many reasons one of them is helping my best friend , and i get to read deleted posts ,even after they have been deleted so it must be for the perks

Then to expect a special warm and fuzzy pm reminder because you think you are different ?
I dont think so.
Then to have the pm ignored because they are too "busy " to reply , or perhaps they dont give a rats ? so now i have to go back and check to see if they have edited the original post and just not replied to my warm and fuzzy pm.
really ?
I read way too much negativity & a very low opinion of members of AJOR in this post. Probably a bit of narcissism as well. In a work place a good senior manager would identify this & be mindful of such when looking to give responsibilities for people management.
& yes I do have a background that gives me some knowledge of such.
