Default Catch can problem

Asked this on the Facebook but didn’t get much of an answer.

I installed a provent catch can and now/in particular in low fears it makes a droning noise. Never had the noise prior to install. I’ve checked the hoses, checked the bracket, checked the pressure valve and can’t source where the noise is coming from. Anyone else got any ideas on how to stop it

Remove everything you did, bring it back to stock and see if the drone goes away. Could be coincidence. Then bolt the provent in place without plumbing it. If your drone starts now, rethink your bracket, its too flimsy and its vibrating. Hook up the hoses and if this brings on a drone, see if they are touching stuff or if the catch can starts shaking around more than when it was not attached via the hoses. use cable ties to temporarily restrain parts.
Post a pic of your install. Mine is quiet.
Cheers, Mick.

I spoke to another bloke yesterday with the same problem, he said he took the spring off the pressure valve and stretched the spring out the cap back on and its solved the issue which is what I will try today

I think the intake tract is quite susceptible to resonance. I had a 3.8 and put a snorkel on it, and it was fine. The same snorkel on the CRD makes a horrible drone, just like you describe.
